Shelley Stamp is the award-winning author of two books on women and the early film industry, founding editor of the journal Feminist Media Histories, and curator of the award-winning 6-disc set Pioneers: First Women Filmmakers. She has been interviewed by many media outlets, including the New York Times, the Los Angeles Times, and NPR’s Morning Edition and Weekend Edition. She is Professor of Film + Digital Media at UC Santa Cruz where she holds the Presidential Chair.
Joao Luiz Vieria is Professor in the Film and Video Department and current Coordinator of the Post-Graduate Program in Communication at Universidade Federal Fluminense. He is the author of numerous texts, reviews, essays and books published in Brazil and abroad such as DW Griffith and the Biograph Company (1984), Cinema Novo & Beyond (NY: MoMA, 1998) and Camera-knife: the cinema of Sérgio Bianchi (Portugal , 2004).
