Hurricane Dorian has hit the northwestern Bahamas as a category 5 storm, specifically the Abacos Islands and Grand Bahamas, on Sunday 1 September, and moved slowly across the islands over the following days. It is reportedly the strongest storm worldwide this year and the strongest to have ever hit the Bahamas, with 185 mph winds.
